Today was one of those days when I was hot wearing a sweatshirt but cold not wearing a sweatshirt. As an extremely seasonal person, my least favorite times of year are usually the in between seasons. Right now I keep alternating between two distinct thoughts. 1) I wish it was still hot and I could go swimming in a lake. 2) I wish I could wear my favorite sweatshirt and drink a pumpkin spice latte (don’t judge me …). Unfortunately, I can’t do either because the weather is exactly in between. So until the weather makes up its mind, I’m stuck being bi-polar. This morning in Costco I noticed that they had Christmas trees and Seahawks coolers in the same section. I feel your pain, Costco. I, too, an stuck in between.
Just like seasons of weather, I think it’s easy for us to get stuck in between seasons of life. I’m talking about those moments when you’re not ready to let go of the past but just can’t find the will to create the future. Times when you order a pumpkin spice latte in the beginning of September, and it feels so wrong. Honestly, I think that the best thing to do is just to keep on living. Now maybe that’s a little over simplified, but I think it’s true. Eventually you’ll walk into Starbucks, order a pumpkin spice latte, and it’ll finally feel just right … well aside from the usual judgement that is … #PSL
